Gerda has a BA Industrial Psychology and BA (Honours) in Human Resource Development, both from Rand Afrikaans University (RAU). She is also a registered assessor at the ETDP SETA for many of the ETDP Unit Standards, such as Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator, Verifier, etc.

Currently she is a shareholder of Assessment College and fulfills the function of Managing Director of Assessment College of South Africa. She joined the company on 1st April 2004.

During her time at Assessment College she has been involved in numerous training initiatives at numerous levels.
She is responsible for the implementation of numerous strategic skills development projects. These extend to corporate development programmes and ETQA Support Services.

She was instrumental in the decision for Assessment College to diversify and as a result has been instrumental in setting-up the property academy. She is currently acting as the Managing Director for this company.

The vision for the Property academy is that it will not only be instrumental in the RPL process, but that it will far outlive this and become a significant force in Real Estate training in the future.

Gerda’s position at the Assessment College places her in an enviable position, where she has been exposed to many SAQA, Department of Labour and human resources activities, such as continuous Seta and provider liaison and consultation. This enables her to advise role players on best practices and continuous improvement. It further allows her to ensure that the business and product is fit for purpose and legislatively compliant.
