“Having been in the industry [now being elevated to a profession] for so many years I am now training not only children but grandchildren. I cannot think of anything more personally rewarding than to help my students and friends through the RPL process so as to help them achieve their F.E.T. Certificates and thus their Full Status licences. "

Jill has been in the real estate industry since 1978 and has been training both agents and Principals for most of that time. She started off her career as a rookie agent then became a qualified agent, [via Natal Technikon in the evenings] then a Manager, then a Principal. She soon realised that real estate education was a sorely neglected resource and provided internal training for her staff. Due to popular demand, she quickly moved into full time training of the industry first just in Durban and then nationally around the country.

She is probably most well known for training and preparing students for the EAAB exams since 1984 – her personal hobby-horse being “ethics and the code of conduct”.

Jill believes that the single most important influence on her career was the three years she served as an EAAB Member and, in particular, on the Disciplinary and Claims Committees. This has given her an incredible insight into how easy it is for agents to fall foul of the code of conduct without realising it or intending to do so. This information has in turn, she believes, made her so much better equipped to help her students and guide them down the correct path in their careers.

Jill, an accredited Assessor, Moderator and Verifier with Services SETA, has served on many SETA Workshops and Task Teams and has been one of the Material Writers for the EAAB for the current F.E.T. Certificate – Real Estate – NQF Level 4.

Jill’s passion is providing agents with additional knowledge and empowering them so that they can in turn can go out into the marketplace and be more professional and more successful than before.
